Original Front Centre Console With Cup Holders
Hi,
Sorry to ask, but in the car I'm breaking it has a centre console with cup holders. Both front and rear cup holder cassettes are in tact with no damage, cracks or chips. The arm rest itself is grey.
Are they uncommon? And what are they worth? Can't find one that has sold recently.
Thanks

Not very common at all. I don't know what they're worth so I'm afraid I can't help with that, but if you decide to let it go and come up with a price then consider me interested!

Re: Original Front Centre Console With Cup Holders
I'm not going to suggest any sort of price; that would be unfair I think. But I can confirm that the cup-holder armrests were - and therefore are - very rare. I have managed to get hold of one for my GT recently in a private sale - they don't come up very often.
Is this a Celeb you are breaking? Out of interest what number does it have on its little plaque if so? It's just that I had the cup-holder armrest in my Celeb that I parted with 3 years ago (no 73), hence my curiosity! - EDIT - sorry, just seen in your other post it's no 236, so it's not my old one then! Phew!! Well, that's 3 cup-holder armrests accounted for so perhaps they're not so rare after all

Make that 5 - we have 2 bought many years ago on evilbay. Haven't seen any offered for sale for a long time. Would it be piggy to say we'd like to buy this one if it's not already spoken for ?

Considering they were about 40 pound new at the dealer, I simply refuse to pay the greatly inflated prices some people dare to ask. Though it is not so bad as the Venetian Blinds...

Perhaps they were cheaper in the Netherlands? Or exactly how far back are you going? About 8/9 years ago I bought from a Volvo dealer what records showed was the last one new available for sale on the UK. I even got a discount for buying New Old Stock, but even so it was considerably more than £40...brinkie wrote:Considering they were about 40 pound new at the dealer, I simply refuse to pay the greatly inflated prices some people dare to ask. I do know what you mean about prices, but the trouble is that rarity adds value - how many of these things were bought at reasonable prices and since lost to scrap? I guess ultimately what it always boils down to is how badly do you want the item?

Re: Original Front Centre Console With Cup Holders
Oh my memory might have been wrong, could be as much as € 75 new but definitely not more. But I think it's ridiculous that people dare to ask up to € 150 for a second hand one.
Once my TARDIS is finished I'll go back in time, buy up all stocks of rear lights, DRL's, cruise control sets, rear bumper supports, armrests with cupholders, luggage roller blinds and Venetian blinds, and become a rich man

Re: Original Front Centre Console With Cup Holders
Thanks for the replays everyone!
I'm going to put it on eBay later starting at £30. I think that's the best way.
Cheers

Fair comment. As for your TARDIS, get on with it - you'll be both a rich and a very popular manbrinkie wrote:Oh my memory might have been wrong, could be as much as € 75 new but definitely not more. But I think it's ridiculous that people dare to ask up to € 150 for a second hand one.
