Can’t really be an American spec, it does have 5 gears and 3 pedals after all
For a car that will cost thousands to restore and has 250,000KM on the clock I think the asking price is very OTT.
Still get some pictures on here so we can see it, if you can’t upload pics yourself email them to me
Cheers

I'd say about a factor of ten out. Even to a collector, its only worth top money in concours condition.
Still the best definition of value is what someone is prepared to pay, so i wait to be proved wrong!

I have trouble uploading the pics on this.
Just send me a mail and I'll send you the pics.
Finnished the car is probably worth between 15-20k€ which is a lot more than a normal 480.
I know for a fact that the 480 used for the clinictrials in the US got vallued 45k€ 2 years ago as it was so rare.
This was based on rebuildcost as parts would have to be reproduced.
But we'll have to wait ant see who dares to restore it...[/img]

I can see whats different I just meant why would it fetch any more than any other 480 from that time in that condition.

Probably to isolate the passenger window. Got to keep those americans safe!

I honestly can't see anyone from this club paying that much, regardless of rarity - people wouldn't pay that for celebration #1 that was offered on here recently! I think the ONLY rare 480 that people would be prepared to pay a lot of money for is one of the 2 cabrio prototypes!
Just my 2p of course!

Yer fookin right n all!
Theyre just not that special to anyone here. Were far from half arsed 480ers too!
Prices are on the deck for minty ones.Mines near mint, albeit with a worn box.If it wasnt I would not consider charging anyone any more than £450.
Its gonna be years before these are worth real money,at least five Id say.Same as any other appreciating classic.Still depends upon demand though,or how many more get scrapped leaving an impromptu wedge-famine.

see the earlier thread below, rob kendall asks the same - its central locking.

Yeh i was thinking it was central locking.
I feel kinda guilty for not 'treasuring' 480's enough to want this rare one. I guess it proves that they haven't quite earnt the "classic car" status just yet!

We're the wrong crowd, especially we UK members.
Not many of us have the money to be buying rare cars just from interest.

No offence, but £45k for a 480 in any spec whatsoever? You are aware what sort of car even classics can be bought for that sort of money?

Yeah dude!!! 45K is a lot of money! That's like 8 american spec 480's
and E5500 is way to much for the american spec car imho but hey my 480 cost £450

I wonder what the part numbers are for the all-orange indicator DRL clusters, and the small-numberplate rear bumper?
Perhaps I could get mine valued then too?
