Soutwest mini-meet

Post by rpruen » Tue Jul 19, 2005 10:00 pm

As sugested by Rob...

It would be nice to get together with some of the soutwest 480 owners.

Not sure about location, or time. But that's easy enough to sort out. Of course anyone would be welcome. even 440 / 460 owners :)

Maybe this could ecen be a semi-regular thing if there is enough interest?

Just an idea at the moment.

I'd be up for any meets around these parts! Finally got the car sorted(kinda - only slight blowing noise from the exhaust!) so it's all good. Any suggestions where?

Being my suggestion, suppose I should be in as well!

Actually the car's just had it's service, new cambelt and suspension checks out ok too. So I think time for a new set of boots. Should be running top notch for any get together.

I reckon there would be about 8-10 at the meet which definitely sounds worth doing. I'm guessing somewhere between Bristol, Taunton and WSM, maybe west somerset?

I've never been to a meet so don't really know what else to suggest.

Well for those coming up from further south, Weston seems a good mid-point, however it's full of boy racers, and we'd stick out like a sore thumb parking a bunch of 480's there.

Portishead is not too bad an idea, Clevedon wouldn't work as there'd be nowhere to park!

I suppose I am thinking somewhere coastal really!

You can drive onto the beach at Brean - that would be do-able for a BBQ/Few drinks on the beach, but not sure what peoples feelings on driving on the sand are.

Just thought I'd throw a few ideas in the pot as it were.

I like the idea of BBQ on the beach. Don't know about anyone else? We need to get a date sorted now. Any suggestions? I am quite flexible at the moment so can probably do anytime people suggest.

Apart from one weekend in October I am flexible too, so if anybody would care to suggest a date, then I should be able to run with it.

Isn't Rupren on his holidays at the moment? If everyone else could note any dates they are not going to be about we should be able to work out a suitable date.

Hi Guys
Any room for one more? have just bought celebration Number 443 from lewisham in London and brought it back here to Bristol to live... its fairly tidy and needs very little work at present... touch wood..as it seems to have been cared for in its 10 year life and after the 155 mile drive home yesterday I am over the moon with it and its even better than I thought it was going to be.... :hopping: isn't it nice to finally realise an 18 year old dream!
Would love to meet up with you all and have really enjoyed looking through the forum the last couple of weeks. Also looking forward to adding to it no doubt
will definately try and come once I know the date... that is if I welcome of course....
