Cambridge/Herts area for an informal meet?
Just wondered if there were any 480 owners in the Cambridge / Herts area who'd like to have an informal meet up, chat some where?

I like the idea of doing one in the middle of the country as a large scale event, but was wondering if local enthusiasts to the Cambridge/ Herts area were up for a small meet.
I've only ever met one 480 Owner before, and suprisingly that was on a ferry to Dunkirk, same powder blue colour as mine, but with a sunroof! Could not believe it! Really nice guy as well!
Anyway, back to the topic. Would be up for a Saturday/Sunday meet in and around the Herts area for a couple of hours if anyone is keen?
I've seen where all current posters are located and for us to meet up somewhere fairly central, we'd need to go to somewhere like Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield or Borehamwood.
Anyone up for that? Or perhaps just in the Cambridgeshire Hertsforshire area?
Cheers

Do people fancy a meet before or after xmas? and has any one got recommendations on a place to meet? Royston area seems to be fairly central and there are a few big carparks there and decent pubs. Let me know what people think.

Well, Banbury is quite a distance away! I was just thinking of a couple of peeps from the local neighbourhood. However, if there are a sufficient number of people interested in meeting up, it might be cool to get it arranged.
Not really sure what happens at these events, does anyone local have any experience of meet ups? What happens? What does everyone do?
Cheers

Ok, I'm gonna seriously look into this now. I went to a meet recently and had a nice time so I have some ideas of things we can do on the day, but I would like a bit more time to organise. What I'd like to do is the following:-
10:00am : Meet some where nice with plenty of parking, but near to an interesting local point of interest, i.e. a museum or point of natural beauty or maybe an activity.
10:30am- 11:45 : Spend an hour at activity area chatting.
11:45'ish - 12:45 : Pub lunch somewhere nice.
1:00 - 1:30 : Convoy somewhere cool where we can easily drop off spouses/friends with cameras/videos to get some moving footage of cars in action.
2:00pm - 3:00 : Photo opportunity somewhere quiet but picturesque, possibly near refreshments to allow more friendly chatting.
Any other suggestions of things to do? Or suggestions of how long these things might take? I had an idea that we could perhaps make a fun video where all participants mime to a song about cars, put it on you tube...Madness - When I'm driving in my car! I'm into video editing and if it's just a short 3 mins song, it might be a lot of fun! Oh well, just a suggestion!
