480 convertible spotted

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

It's not as nice as you think, and it's not really a genuine one. All the panels and the targa bar are from a breakers in Holland designated to detroy all of Volvo's design prototypes and studies. CP Motors managed to get all the components and chopped a Paris blue down and installed all of what you see.

It's not finished, the top doesn't work and is permenantly down and it requires alot of finishing to make it look the biz.

But saying that Kudos for trying!

Statutory Off Road Notification, basically you have to tell the DVLA that you are keeping the car off the public road, if you don’t and don’t renew your road tax they will fine you.

hello

does anyone have any pics of the ACT or EBS converted 480s?

I wonder if this one uses parts from those? from speaking to volvo design heritate, volvo themselves only build 2 convertibles but they did access the ACT conversions... they let them build them but wouldnt let it be sold as a Volvo product... curious they still have the badges.

anyone know how many ACT cars were built? Ive tried to find their webpage or contacts but cant seem to find them. they also made estate hatchbacks for the 440, makes it look like an estate but the car body is actually a hatch.

anyone see an ACT 440 estate or 480 cabrio for sale. they are getting older now so shouldnt be crazy expensive

I've seen 2 ACT 440 'Estates', and old Mk1 and a facelift.

On the website you'll find a list of all known Cabrio's. Except this one, it still deserves an entry :)

There was a red 440 estate for sale nearby, might still be for sale, seller wanted about 700 euros for it I believe.

For UK drivers: you could of course always put the trunk cover on a LHD 440, quite a simple operation :)
