How to : undo the leather from the seats?

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

How to : undo the leather from the seats?

Post by Bakke » Tue Jan 24, 2006 8:27 am

Hey guys, a friend of mine got himself a new 95 leather interior. The strange fact is that his new seats have no heating? Is this possible, I allways tought all leather seats were heated???

So, if it is true that they are not heated, we would like to switch the old heater matrix from his previous interiour in the new seats...

Anyone who can guide me how to take the seats apart. During the process I'll take pictures, could come in use for others too ...

It's quite simple. You've got to remove 2 metal clips from corners of seat, then using pliers remove some wire clips.
If you'd like can take some pics of stuff to remove ;)
Before doing this job get some thick copper wire. It's easier to put leather back on seat than with original Volvo wire.

Does he have no heated seats switch or does he have a switch and nothing happens when he turns it on?

I have leather seats and they take a good deal longer to warm up than the cloth ones

They are replacements for my older seats. My older seats do have wires coming out of the bottom to connect to the electric system, my new seats however don't have this wires comming out ...

Bakke,

Just have him call me.
It is quite easy and shouldn't take to long......
