squeaking instrument panel
hi guys
am getting a really annoying squeaking noise from instrument panel. am assuming just need to check and tighten all the screws as when i apply pressure to the instrument panel/surround the noise stops.
1) what do you guys think? noise occurs when moving.
2) is there an idiots guide on how to remove instrument panel and surround?

Checking and tightening all the screws could help but it could also make it worse! I believe it's the type of plastic used by the manufacturer.
(Allibert I think molded the plastic? And what a great job they did )
On my previous 480, I dusted all of the car down with baby powder. I know, Ye probably think I'm mad but believe it or not - it stops the creaking of this plastic. This is a messy job so have your vacuum cleaner close by.

Squeaking
There is a miracle cure for squeaking, called Gleitmo, which can be sprayed onto the adjoining surfaces. It forms a thin, invisible layer of molibden-something on the plastic, which prevents it from squeaking. Mostly. I got it from a friend, he said they were using it on airplanes when repairing/checking, to eliminate guess what, squeaking noises. Works for me
Hunting rattling and squeaking in a 480 is a life-time commitment. I will do that, I will have the very first Silent 480 in the universe. At the moment I just call it the Huge Box of Lego, but some day I will call it the Silent Wedge

Well, I got it from the above mentioned friend, I dunno where he got it from.
It is an orange spray can, with black and partly white text on it, saying:
GLEITMO 300
Clean Lubricating Film
Non-soiling, invisible, no oil, no grease
Excellent lubricating properties
Is extremely pressure-resistant
Is compatible with textiles, rubber and all plastics.
Gleitmolibdän Schmierstoffe GmbH, D-85386 Eching, München

Nothing else I could find out about it...
