Wipers (front) running at start up

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Wipers (front) running at start up

Post by Alan 480 » Fri May 10, 2024 9:47 pm

Folks

A couple of times recently we have had the wipers come on ASAP the key is moved to the 'unlock steering' postion, no fixed method of stopping them, other than lock / unlock etc (better half made the comment and I had same issue today twice, then all normal)

I know that there is an 'extra' supply that should allow the wipers to self park and if that wire or switch is broken then they just paark 'anywhere' but this would seem to be the opposite !!

I wheeched the CEM out and all looked well, not any sign of dry solder joints or water ingress, although it does seem that the box had been removed by a previous owner, only one screw holding it in place

any suggestions are welcome

Jeff

OK,, that should be 'simples' as I'm sure I have a complete set of switch gear 'stashed' . . .. .
