Crankcase ventilation

my Crankcase ventilation is broken.. now used to vent to atmosphere..
is it bad??

that's what iv done on my car and as a bonus it idles perfectly. i would suggest you get a piece of hose long enough to reach to about level with the bottom of the sump.

the other end of the hose dos'nt need to go any where its just it you dont put any thing on the end of the oil brether the fumes will make a mess under the bonnet. the idea of the hose is to direct the mess and the fumes down under the car. hope that made sence.

Sorry to resurect an old post but my 480 now has a similar problem as mice have eaten the insulation jacket the breather is housed in, is anyone else running a set-up without it, and does it run ok? i have seen in some cases cars fail MOT's because its venting gases to atmosphere, but other than that are there any other genuine problems with doing this? Any advice is much appreciated. Tom
