The parts books says that there are two different flywheels for the B18FT. One till chassis 567599 and for chassis numbers from 567600. That's the facelift in 1 januar 1991. But there's no reference to 44-2 or 60-2 flywheels, so I cannot be sure.

Im thinking the change in flywheels has to do with the uprated clutch (wasn't that also from VIN 567600?)

But another question would be if the B20F did get a 60-2 flywheel in 1994. The partnumber is the same as the B18FT, but the B20F use Fenix 3b for the ignition. Im puzzled :?

@yknot: I would first connect the sensor output to a voltmeter. Measure the voltage. Then I would calculate the amplification. The Mic input on a PC only can handle till 0,5V before it blows up. When you know this data you can solder your amplifier. Connect sensor to amplifier, amplifier to mic input. Record a wav in audacity and off you go.

Search for DIY PC oscilliscope on the web.

Also, what I'll do when I first run MS is to fix timing to -10BTDC and check with a timing light to see if the tooth decoder is setup right.

My MSII is working only with megastim, with the latest firmware, not yet on the car, trying to figure the ignition settings and flywheel setup.

94 2.0 flywheel is identical to the later Turbo flywheel.

I have a spare one.

Yes the parts and repair manuals says that in 1994 the flywheels for the B20F and B18Ft changed.

However this is curious since the B20F uses Renix/ FEnix which has normally the 44-2 flywheel then the 60-2 flywheel.

I know this is an old thread, but I think it is usefull if I add my findings to be found by the search engine;

There's a 60-2 flywheel on my B20F with Fenix3b ECU, built late 1993. It's a 460 type.
I wired the sensor to a laptop as posted earlier in this thread.
The waveform is exactly the same.

Good to know! I reckon a Renault flywheel is 60-2 too, and the ones from some of the sporty Clios are apparantly quite lightweight.

What's you trigger offset at TDC in MS for the 60-2 flywheel ?

I used 15 teeth (90 BTDC) and that worked fine and I checked it with a timing light.

So the problem is as follows :
I've started long ago from gixfighter's msq, there was 258 degrees as Tooth angle, build the maps from there, car goes like rocket.
Yesterday looked at my second engine that lies around, found out it's actually 90 degrees and today I've managed to re-build my maps but the car is awfully, boost goes up,14 psi,but is like I'm towing bricks,so got annoyed, loaded up my old settings (258),car=rocket again ! WTF ?

OK,so how do you count the teethes ?
Please save and edit the picture !

P.S. If the engine is turning counter-clockwise,than the logic is that before the next top dead center there are 4x teethes to go !
