Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone

Hello William, Welcome to the club ! That's a great choice - as you've no doubt gathered the 480 is a really fun car to drive, and the 2 litre two-tones are few and far between. There aren't many two tones at all, and they are mostly 1.7s so you've done well to grab a rarity by sheer chance. It's a...

Re: William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone

Hi there, nice to see a fellow young 480ist! Like you I also bought mine as my first car (ok technically) when I was 16. I did the whole learning to drive saga in it, and passed last October in it. They really are great cars, and as a classic first car they are the ultimate when it comes to beating...

William's 1993 480ES Two-Tone

Hello all, I've made a few posts on here already, but haven't properly introduced myself to the forum. I'm 17, based in Surrey and just bought a 480 as my first car! I've been interested in cars all my life and have been browsing the web and doing hundreds insurance quotes for potential first cars s...

Re: Wanted: Various bits & bobs

- The piece of plastic that covers the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell. The actual lever part or the plastic surround? - Boot courtesy light housing (mine just hangs loose due to a snapped clip) Probably got one of those floating about. - Centre high brake light gasket It's just buty...

Re: W917/1 or W917 Oil filter?

I’m an idiot. The oil filter that came with the car was a W917/1. After trying to fit it for a solid 20 minutes, I can confirm that a W917 DOES NOT fit. I need to order a new W917/1 instead.

W917/1 or W917 Oil filter?

Hello, Just went to change the oil filter on my car and 5l worth of brand new magnatec oil just ended up on my driveway due to the new oil filter spraying the oil everywhere :wall: I’ve noticed that the oil filter that came with the car is a W917, but the part I ordered from Amazon (which was descri...

Re: Wanted: Various trim bits & bobs

This one isn't a necessity, but I'd love to retrofit an oil pressure & voltmeter gauge below the radio, so does anyone know how much they're worth? (I'm specifically after one with a blank over the Turbo gauge as mine is a 2.0) The volt meter will work when you plug the gauge cluster in and the wir...

Wanted: Various bits & bobs

Hello all, I am looking for the following: - 'Limited Edition' badge for a 480 ES TT (the 'Limit' part on mine has fallen off and gone missing) - '2.0i' badge (the 'i' has gone missing on mine) - The piece of plastic that covers the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell. - Boot courtesy lig...

Re: Wanted: Passenger side wing

can save you a call - Lakes have nothing! Having seen a picture of your wing on facebook, there doesn't appear to be any rot damage - have you spoken to any dent people to see if they can repair what you've got? I haven't yet, as I was just putting the feelers out there just to see if anyone had a ...

Re: Wanted: Passenger side wing

Hey, you could broaden your search a little as Two cars (paint code code 350) are made from colour code 314 (vase green metallic) over 306 (smoke silver metallic). If you get a full 314 paint code wing, adding the silver would be cheaper than a full respray. Try Lake Autos (01480212291) to see if t...

Wanted: Passenger side wing

Hello,

Iam after a good condition passenger side wing for my RHD 480. Ideally Two-Tone, but not a must as I can respray it.

Thanks all.

Genuine Volvo.

It's no dearer than any other quality anti-freeze and lasts very well - and you know it's the right stuff for your engine!

David
thank you

Hello,

What type/brand of antifreeze do you recommend putting in a 480?
Mine is a 2.0
