Re: Strange speedo behavior

It's picking up electronic noise, could be caused by improper shielding or grounding. Judging by the double-digit rev counter it's an early car, they are notorious for these problems. You can try and remove the instrument cluster and check the connections of blue connector pin 2 (black-brown wire -...

Strange speedo behavior

My speedo is acting strangely I don't know why adjusting the interior light affects it. I know it's probably a grounding issue but the rev meter shares the circuitry.

Here is a video of it:

Re: Couple of electrical problems

1986/1987 cars have VERY flaky electrics, they were the Volvo mechanic's nightmare. I once worked on a 1987 car, which had all sorts of strange failures (engine did start, but no brake lights, dashboard dead, etc.), turned out to be a bad socket of the "15" relay supplying power to the rail that is...

Couple of electrical problems

When I got my car out of the workshop i noticed my speedometer, odometer, info center and the side indicators were dead. After I took out the CEM and back in, the pop up lights had also stopped working. Only when I disconnect the wire going to fuse box from the battery, the info center comes to life.

Re: Gas springs for the rear window

They are widely available. However...‎ My choice would be to send yours (along with the pop up light gas struts which are probably also very weak now)‎ to SGS Engineering. They will recharge yours and if they hold a pressure, send them back. If they don't hold pressure, they'll send you replacement...
